What is the difference between streaming a tour and downloading a tour?
Streaming adds the tour without downloading all of the audio tracks. The main advantage to streaming is that tours are much quicker to download and they take up far less space on your hard drive. This is a great option if you arrive at a location and want to add a tour but don’t have access to a WiFi network. In the streaming mode, you must be connected to the internet in order to play the audio track.
Downloading adds the tour and all of the audio tracks to your mobile device. The advantage to downloading is that you will be able to play all of the audio while you are on tour even if you are not connected to the internet. This is a great option for international travelers that want to avoid data charges and for visitors going to locations that might have limited data coverage. In order to download the full tour you must be connected to a WiFi network.

I want to download a tour that I originally streamed. How do I do that?
Go back to the “Find Tours” page and select the tour. During the purchase process, Apple will recognize that you already purchased the tour. You will not have to pay again. This time select “Download” and it will replace the original version of the tour that you had setup to “Stream”.

My tour didn’t finish downloading. Will I have to pay again?
No. You only have to pay for a tour once. Open the “TourIt” page in the application. If the tour is listed there you can select it. If the tour did not finish downloading you will be given another opportunity to add the tour. If the tour is not listed on the “TourIt” page you can go back to the catalog and add it again. Apple will recognize that you have already purchased the tour and it will allow you to add it again at no cost.

Can I add a tour if I am offline?
No. Tours can only be added when you have an internet connection.

My only option is to stream the tour. Why can’t I download it?
Downloading large audio tracks requires a WiFi connection. Trying to download the full audio over a 3G or slower connections would take too long.

I have an iPod Touch and an iPhone. Do I have to pay twice to download a tour onto both devices?

How do I control the audio?
When you start playing an audio track, a small window pops up that contains the audio controls. The controls allow you to start and stop an audio track. Pressing the headphone button hides and un-hides the audio controls.
